MWM and Environment faculty board merger questionnaire

As announced at the annual Minerals Conference in March 2008, this year the Minerals & Waste faculty board is about to merge with the Environment Faculty board at board level. The existing APC routes will remain unaffected and members will still be able to use the designation of Chartered Mineral Surveyor. The MWM faculty and Environment faculty will remain in existence. As many of you will remember, when the faculties came into existence through Agenda for change in 2000 the former Minerals Division became the Minerals, Waste and Environmental Management Faculty. In 2001, The Environment Faculty subsequently split away and became a faculty in it's own right. Over the past few years the membership of the Minerals and Waste Faculty has steadily declined with the number of new members joining every year being in single figures. It is hoped that as a merged board we can have more success in reversing this than previously. It is essential that we grow and adapt and have as diverse a board as possible in terms of skill sets, experience, background and geography. The merger of the two boards addresses this with an excellent mix of motivated individuals who have agreed to work on a voluntary basis for the benefit of the membership.

This is your opportunity to decide on what name should be adopted for the newly constituted board.
